I recently tried to DIY ombre my hair but it didn't come out as expected. I want my hair to be a light brown so I'm waiting for the colour to fade. If I get an ash blonde dye on my tips, do you think it would make it lighter? I know people say the more dye I deposit, the darker it'll get. But I've seen some YouTube videos where the hair colour lightened. Somebody enlighten me, please?

Do you think if I colour it light ash blonde it'll be lighter?

Hi there! From your picture your hair looks to be orangey. totally nothing wrong with the color. if you used bleach to do tour ombre and the resulting color is orange you've lifted your hair to a level 7. Blue (cool tone) cancels out orangish colors. if you use an ash color to tone your hair please be careful bc ash can be either blue or green and you may not get the result you want. I think your ombre looks beautiful the way it is though. :D
