Hairstyles for thick hair?

I have not only a lot of hair, but the texture is super thick as well... I look at girls with thin hair, and think that they can pull of hairstyles much better than I can. Any suggestions for everyday hairstyles I can do? Oh, my hair is medium long in length and very wavy. At the moment I have it parted down the middle, I also have a square/round face if that's helpful. Pictures are appreciated :)

Like french braid? Bc it's not quite long enough to braid it to the side :(

So a half bun. I found that it looks great with thick hair.
