Mane 'n tail shampoo and conditioner. Is it true this helps hair grow quickly? What are its pros and cons?

Nothing makes hair grow faster since hair growth is based on genetics. Hair just seems longer because it's being weighed down by all the waxes Mane N Tail contains. Mane N Tail is for horses, hence the name, and is full of waxes that human hair doesn't need.

^^ what Alexis said. I tried it several years back and just remember my hair feeling all kinds of nasty. Dry and full of residue all the time. I remember liking the scent, but that was about all I liked.

Alexis, what's your view on coconut oil for hair growth and other tips like that? Same thing? I've never thought about waxes and stuff! I'm glad you told me about that! Kailey, I saw so many mixed views on the internet about this one, I'm used to buying the 2 dollar shampoo and conditioner so this would've been a investment for me :p love the way to spell your name btw!

Same thing, there is no miracle product or technique to make hair grow faster as hair growth is based on genetics and you can't change genetics.

I think that it's just a matter of wording, like people say or maybe think that something makes your hair grow faster but in reality it is that your hair is healthier and breaking less, therefore it seems as if it grows faster. So if at it this way, then I would say reducing or cutting heat at all would be a great bet.

You can do things to take better care of your hair but not grow faster is all genetics

It doesn't help it grow but I really like it. It worked really well on my hair but I have really oily hair. I have to wash it everyday if I don't want to look like I haven't washed it in a week.

If your hair is oily enough that you have to wash it every day it could actually the washing it every day causing it to be oily. Drying out your scalp could be stimulating your glands to produce more oil to keep your skin and hair moisturised. Or even washing your hair in water that is too warm and opening the pores and stimulating sebum production. Changing your routine to a milder shampoo, a conditioner on mid lengths and ends and a cool water rinse focusing on your scalp at the end and it will take a couple of weeks to adapt to a new routine and for your hair and scalp to adjust but I promise you will no longer have to wash every day, I've been a hairdresser for 16 years and it's still the old fashioned trusted advice that never fails <3

I'm not sure if it makes your hair grow faster but it is full of chemicals. I wouldn't use it.

Do NOT use that shampoo OR the conditioner. I have extremely oily hair too so I thought it would be fine to use this but it completely ruined my hair.

Just a heads up ladies, this is not the exact shampoo and conditioner they use for horses! It was "remastered" for humans, but it still way too heavy and harsh.
