So I will probably go to a professional. I just wanted to know if it was a lengthy process to get The lilac/grey hair color? and what are the steps to get there?

It definitely is a lengthy process, especially if you don't already have a blonde base to start with or have very dark hair. You'll need to have your hair lightened to a very pale yellow blonde (like the inside of a banana), depending on your hair colour now that could take anywhere from 2-4 bleaches, after that you'll need to have it toned and will have to start looking for purple/blue based shampoos to maintain the silver colour.
