So I dyed my hair "dark brown" myself with Clairol permanent hair dye and it turned out to be black, not brown. This was 5 days ago. My hair was a medium brown before I dyed it. I went to the salon and I was told it would fade, which it has but not as much as I hoped. I was also told it would cost $95 to lift the color which I am willing to do, but only as a last resort. Any home remedies to getting out black hair dye? I don't want to dry my hair out, help meeeeee.

there are hair dye strips you can get. I can tell you it won't fad much. it's permanent there not made to fade. you can always use lightener but that may damage your hair.
