If you don't cut them, they just keep splitting even more and you will have to cut off even more in the future, so you're better off doing it now. It's not even much length at all when you get them cut, just a trim, which is actually good if you're growing our your hair, regular trims help a lot, since it's keeping your hair healthy

I suggest trimming a small amount every month/ 2 weeks. This way your hair is growing whole you removing the split ends. You also won't see the hair growth much, but you'll be able to have hold the same length

^ definitely don't trim your hair that often. that is really unnecessary and you will be cutting off more than your hair grows. hair grows on average.5-1 inch a month and that's about how much you trim when you go to the hair salon so you're hair will remain the same length. I recommend getting your hair trimmed only when you have noticeable split ends (: most typically cut their hair once every 6 months! if you want nice long healthy hair you must cut off your split ends. it's upsetting, I know, but it will continue splitting up and it won't look healthy. to keep it healthy and strengthen the hair for the future, try out some hair masks. if you can't afford a hair mask, there are many recipes online (: also invest in nice hair products! try to use as little heat as possible. if you must use heat, use heat protectant. there are also many heatless hairstyles on youtube!

Also try not to brush your hair when it's wet. it can cause breakage and split ends. don't take any pills without consulting a doctor first.

Another thing is if you do want to use heat try any heat protectant, this has really helped me. You could also just wear your hair up once in a while. This gives your hair a break and to get healthy. If not on these work use some coconut oil on your ends then put your hair up in a ponytail.

It's nice to go every three months. A lot of the time split ends comes from heat, so if you are curling or straightening or applying any heat at all to your hair it will split. I know this now because my aunt is a cosmetologist. Heat is hard on your hair! Protect it they make shampoos and treatment sprays. I use a heat protectant and natural oils in my hair. Good luck!

My hairdresser trimmed all my split ends then I started using Pro Naturals hair repair system now no split ends, hair is very healthy, shiny and the argan oil leave in treatment protects my hair from heat damage.
