Photographing Makeup Looks

How do you ladies capture your makeup looks so that the true detail & color show up? I know about the macro setting, but my pics still don't show the true colors of my look...do you use flash or no flash? And if no flash, do you use special lighting? I really appreciate your help, thanks.

If you are doing it in a lighter room don't use flash if you are in a dark room use flash. Make sure you focus the camera though.

Are you using a camera, or phone? If it is a camera make sure it has about 8 or more megapixels, set the dpi/ppi at 300( it will need to be at 72 for the internet), set your white balance to auto and try to use softer, natural light.

I always take my photos in natural lighting. So basically, I sit by my window xD It helps the colors be more true!

I take a picture with my eye near my LED mirror. Outside lighting is great too but too show details nothing is better than LES
