I finally decided to try Color Zap to remove the red dye from my hair and I'm pretty happy with the results.
I have to thanks thank Shanae J for sharing a link on another thread about using coconut oil when bleaching hair. I'm so glad I saw that because my main concern was trying to avoid my hair feeling "crunchy" after this process.
but my issue now is that my hair is like a golden yellow-blonde with some leftover light red streaks here and there. it looks like a golden strawberry lol. I kind of like it actually but I want to put in a color to tone down the brassy-ness but keep the light color. do I have to use a permanent dye or are there semi-permanent dyes for that...or what are other options??
thanks beauties for any feedback!

Aww! Glad I could help! I would suggest getting a dye with "ash" in the name, like "dark ash blonde" or "medium ash blonde." It'll cancel out some of the brassiness while keeping the color. You could also just get a toner from Sallys to cancel out the specific brassiness that you don't want, they have tonnnnsss of options. You could also use a toning shampoo, a violet one. There's also box brassiness fixer things, like brass banisher, (didn't work for me) brass be gone, etc.

Wash your hair with some dish soap, and then condition very well afterwards, it'll get rid of most of the excess red :) depending on how dark your hair is go for an ash tone, though if your current hair is quite like be wary of it turning green. Afterwards follow up with a purple conditioner, they're more effective and less drying than purple shampoos :)

Oh! And the Fabuloso brand is BOMB for purple shampoos, look for it at Sally's or your local salon

Thank you guys so much!
I did have a "light warm brown" semi-permanent from Ion (I think) but I rinsed it out after 10 minutes because I thought it would come out too dark lol
I'll definitely look into the l'oreal casting creams and all the other tips you beauties suggested.
I appreciate the feedback!
