How can I get medium blonde hair with highlights to an ash blonde.

Maybe you could go to the hairdressers and get it professionally bleached to that colour. Or you could even do it yourself at home with a home dye where you could go into the shop and chose the colour you want and then do it at home. I wouldn't suggest stripping your hair as it drys it out and doesn't do anything good for it. Whereas if you was to add dye it won't harm your hair that much and can make it look healthier with the right products. I only know this as I work in a hairdressers 😀

Looks like you could easily bleach and tone it to an ash blonde.
Before bleaching I would say to give the purple shampoo a try since it's less damaging. I have been using the GVP purple shampoo (generic brand of clairol shimmer lights, bought from Sally's) and it does a great job at ridding my hair of gold tones and brassiness.

I've recently had a whole slew of kids come in wanting this color and I can tell you that this color is not that easy to achieve. I suggest going to a professional. you really need to bleach any remaining tone/pigment out of your hair and tone with a violet or blue toner. it can come up uneven and some parts can pull purple/blue. your hair looks fairly light but I see a lot of yellow in it that that yellow can be hard to get out.
