How do I get my hair from becoming oily for the rest of the day?

How often do you wash it?

You can use a dry shampoo when you're becoming oily.

Short term:
Dry shampoo works well, as long as you use it the right way. You can look up videos or different things like that to see the correct way to use it.
When putting in condition DO NOT put it on your scalp. Conditioner is only needed on the ends of your hair, putting it on your scalp makes your hair become oilier faster.
Long term:
You need to train your hair. Do you wash it every day? If so, try and go longer and long met without washing it. It will be oily for the first month or so but after that you will be able to go 2,3, 4 days without it becoming oily.

What Eva B said is spot on. You need to train your hair by washing it less and using a dry shampoo. I personally prefer an aerosol spray vs sprinkle on powder. I use KMS or Got2B. Eventually your hair will get used to skipping washes. I couldn't go a day without washing a year ago and now I can go 5 days between washes if I wish.

The point made is to NOT wash it every day. Since daily washing strips your hair of its natural oils and makes your body think it needs to produce more. Hence it getting oily on the daily. You need to train your hair to reset its oil production but washing every SECOND day, and using dry shampoo to combat the oilyness and keep it fresh. After a while once your body has balanced you'll be able to skip more washes without experiencing oily hair. So again to reiterate - daily washing is what's causing the oily hair.

Jenna and Eva are right. Once I stopped washing my hair every day, and stopped putting conditioner on the crown of my head, my hair stopped being oily. Now I wash 2-3 times a week.

It took me a while to "train" my hair, but I now only shampoo once a week. Sounds gross, but I rinse it and apply conditioner daily. Helps it look less messy and slept on. And I use dry shampoo!!
