Curl Your Lashes With A Spoon??

ok, so, ever since my friend accidentally ripped off half of her eyelashes with the curler for them, i have not touched my eyelash curler. Latley i've been hearing of people using a spoon to curl their lashes. does this work? does it hold them up for awhile?? as you can see in my photos, my lashes are really weird in my opinion. Thx
