Liquid eyeliner looks funny

I just love the look of liquid liner on others, especially the winged look. But when I wear it, I swear I just look retarded. Even a thin line doesn't look right. Anyone else?

It takes practice. I would suggest using tape, placing it at an angle on the outer corner of your eye and using that as a guide to getting the perfect line.
