Any tips on how to make it look good?

Don't be so hard on yourself! Keep on practicing and trying. Start with simpler tutorials and work your way up to the harder ones. Also, make sure you have a nice, cheap beginner palatte. It should have decent pigmentation and 5+ colors. It's no use trying to follow makeup tutorials if you don't have half of the materials.

Agreed ^ practice makes perfect!

I agree as well. ^
You could use nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk before you use your shadow to make it more pigmented. I feel like you either didn't have pigmented shadow, or you didn't use enough.

Also, make sure you're using the right brushes for the right areas! Most drugstores have brush kits for around $10 or so that can get you started :)

Shanaes suggestion should help a lot. a eyeshadow base or primer are really nessecary to get a good result. also, a pigmented not chalky eyeshadow is a must. I personally havent found anything better than my finger to apply shadow to my lid, which can be challenging but manageable, then for the crease I use a brush.

I recommend getting an eyeshadow primer or base. my favorite drugstore primer is the elf sheer eyelid primer for only $1 and my favorite eyeshadow base is the maybelline color tattoo in barely branded which runs about $6!! also get a pigmented eyeshadow palette. I like the almay trios, but I've heard great things about the covergirl quads and stuff!

Also for brushes, maybe try elf eye brushes (they do shed some, but good for beginners) and some eco tools or real techniques face brushes ☺️

Definitely agree.^ You should use the right tools and get a makeup palette and an eyeshadow base. Also practice makes perfect. I've been doing my makeup for a couple of years now and I'm getting really good at it. Start off with easier looks like a light lid color, a darker crease and very light color for the brow bone. I usually just put a shimmery pink eyeshadow on the light, a matte brown in the crease, and a skin colored (my skin color) eyeshadow on the brow bone. Hope this helps ☺️

Ignore my forehead lines. My eyes are really wrinkly so I had to stretch them a bit to be able to see it.

Thanks to everyone who replied :) I just made some homemade primer with moisturiser and foundation but I must go and get some proper primer. I'm not sure if they sell elf where I live. Is it high end or drugstore?

Elf is drugstore. you can find it and NYX in Target. so you have any eyeshadow sticks/crayons? that would work as well. anything cream based will help the shadow powder stick.

I wouldn't waste your money on the elf primer. It's literally like water and does nothing for the staying power or pigmentation of your shadows.
I recommend Too Faced shadow insurance

Maybe you're not putting primer. That used to happen to me and so the eyeshadow wouldn't stay on my eyelid. Now I just ise concealer and it stays. Also it's all about practice! Noone was born knowing something😊
