Summer and over washing.

Basic day consists of light makeup with some foundation or concealer depending on the day. I have combination oily skin and large leaky pores. I was mornings and before bed. I don't want to over wash during the day when my face is slick but something needs to be done. Can I add in a daytime wash or is that too much for my skin? I usually blot but days where it's excessively warm I need a different route.

Washing three times a day might be a bit too much. Have you thought of using an oil control moisturizer? I know that Murad makes one...for the life of me I can't remember the exact name but I saw it the other day when I was in Sephora "window shopping". I actually have to go back Saturday so I will put it on my must do list to check out. I have oily skin myself and when the temp rises here in FL so does my oil production. I'll take one for the team and snag a sample and report back.

If it's the Murad moisturizer that mattifies with SPF I have a sample myself. It's an odd thick consistency but doesn't feel greasy or anything of the sort. I use it sparingly because it's a sample but I can't judge it based on that kind of use. Lol I read your post earlier, so I'm not ditching out on it! But I've been using jojoba oil, and I like it, but maybe now isn't the season to use that. Hmm. Clearly I need to buy a fan hat that auto mists 😄

Thanks for the response Shelley, certainly let me know what you think of the product.

Ashlee I noticed that it is quite thick as well. If you ladies find something that works well I'd love to hear about it/them as well. I tend to 3 time wash on occasion as well :'(

I wouldn't wash 3 times a day, but I personally prefer Squalane Oil isn't nearly as thick as Jojoba and non-comedogenic... found in our bodies as well and does wonder for brightening up a complexion and contains countless benefits. It absorbs mighty fast.. I ditched Jojoba for it as I prefer it a lot more and prefer to use Jojoba as a make up remover.
I find using an acid toner helps control oil production and pore size which may help (You can see the oily difference in a before/after picture I have on my profile)

No...its not that one. I have that mattifier myself and whoa...it literally gives my skin a super matte look. The texture reminds me of Elmers Glue. The one I'm thinking of is actually lighter in texture and isnt as intense.

Shelley I use that one, let me go look in my powder room when I get home and I'll tell you the name.

I have oily skin as well. and I don't do any makeup on hot summer days. I am from india and here the temp reaches to 45? sometimes. I usually put spf upto spf 40 with UVA and UVB protection and mix it with aloe vera lacto calamine which soothes my face n keeps my skin normal all day. I just put eyeline with black kohl with a lipstick.

I'm trying to go light on makeup. Normally I fill my brows, use a foundation to cover some veins in my eyelids, swipe on mascara and a lippie, but I don't like the redness around my nose, I think it makes my lip color look off. Shelley and Tiffany, Yea, Elmer's Glue lol that's the consistency! I don't mind it as it absorbs well enough. Kitty, Most of my jojoba has spilled out of it's bottle so I'm due for something new soon, can you find squalane oil the same type of places jojoba is found? Thanks ladies, so basically washing three times isn't recommended and my only option is to try and find something that keeps my skin from crying all day? If that's the case I may look more into Murad then, may be worth a shot. Thanks again :)
