Soooo, I'm thinking about dying my hair purple, and with the thought that, if it all goes wrong, and it looks horrible, I could just dye it back to brown.
My hair it brown, not dark brown, not light brown, just inbetwen.
I am not going to bleach my hair before I dye it, because I am going for a dark purple.
The only color avalible in my country is the Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL 87 Mystic Violet. And it's pretty cheap, so I'm not quite sure if its good.
Well my sister told me that she had heard about your hair could have a green tint when you dye it back to brown, and now I got kinda scared.. Is that true? And do you guys have some tips?
P.S. this is my first...like...topic, forum thingie xD

I have never dyed my hair purple or know anybody who has or even used that dye but I know that it may not even work if you don't bleach it first. I might work and come out a really dark and subtle purple, probably barely even noticeable. This being said, I would go to a salon and get it done if you are serious about having it purple for a long time. If you are not sure if you want it permanent, you could try bleaching it and using a semi-permanent dye, I am sure they last up to a month or so.

I just know that in a salon it's really expensive, and I don't want a bright purple color, I juts want some purple tint, or just a very dark purple :)
Also thinking about ordering the manic panic purple, because I've seen a lot of girls using that brand?

Since you're not going to bleach your hair then when you use the purple dye it will just give your hair a purple tint and how visible that tint is depends on how dark your hair is. The darker it is the more the tint will only be visible in the right light.
I've had purple before but I bleached my hair to get the shade of purple I wanted. I just let all the color fade out before dying my hair black and I didn't have any issues with a green tint.

Your sister is on the right track, but not fully there. If you don't bleach your hair, it'll just act as a corrector instead of turning purple. I suggest going to the salon and talking to them.
