Sorry if I put this in the wrong category! Looking to buy a new razor. I have dark underarms and unfortunately even when I shave it still looks like there is hair there!! Pretty embarrassing :-( anyways- all razors look the same to me... Does anyone have any that they absolutely love and can get a really close shave with?

I like using men's razors, Gillette in particular. Also, exfoliating before and after shaving and using conditioner in placement of a shaving cream are my holy grail things to do.

Well your underarms will always be dark unfortunately unless you bleach them, but I usually use a razor with 5 blades.

I like men's razors but waxing may be your best option, especially to prevent darkness. You could try the new Dove advanced care deodorant which is supposed to help fade dark under arms and prevent further darkness. The Shea butter one is my personal favorite.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubbles but you aren't supposed to use men's razors (I've been guilty of it before too) men's razors are made to shave faces and beards, not legs and armpits and other sensitive areas while women's razors are designed just for that. if you're concerned that women's razors aren't sharp enough they are. also Gillette owns Venus the women's razor company and the same blades that are in the men's razor and also in the women's.

I've used the Gillette Venus and I still prefer men's. I've been using men's for a loooong time, and exactly for that reason - they get a closer shave which is exactly what I want being a dark haired lady like my self! Lol. I've never had problems after 11 years of using them :-)

Also, my men razors I use have two strips of the gel protectors like the women's, Cosmo is a load of junk lol! I actually cut myself more when I use women's, rather than men's...

Plus the men's have a flexi-ball and it totally caters to the curvier areas, like the knees and such! Sorry for spam.-.

I agree, I've used a man's shaver for years and I'm 38 years old now and is been fine. Started using it at 10 or 11 years old when I was a little chewie ( chewbaca) lol.Gillette is awesome

I have very sensitive skin and I agree... Women razors always give me razor burns for days and cuts everywhere. I took my dads razor out of the packet the other day to try it out and behold... no redness, no bumps, nothing. Both are blades at the end of the day and a mans face is still sensitive so I highly doubt using it on my pits is going to make it the end of the world lol. Probably just another article to market products.
