Hi ladies!
Has anyone gotten eyelash extensions? If so can you apply mascara on them? And do they ruin your own eyelashes?

Ugh. I hated having eyelash extensions! I've always had long full lashes naturally but a few years ago I had the bright idea to try out even fuller lashes and didn't know about falsies (lol) but saw the eyelash extension booth in the mall, so I was like YASS. I got them applied, and they did look so gorgeous, I will say! Like, you don't even need mascara lol. Yeah, so that was the first day, was swooning over the look. Like, they looked really pretty, and natural! Okay, well, that night, I went to bed whatever and the next morning girl my eyes were SORE! Just at the lash line, and my lashes were all over the place, the extensions and my lashes looked soo weird lol. Like they clumped and made huge gaps..so I brushed through with some mascara and it kind of helped, not really, lol. It looked really spidery lol. Anyways, I took off my makeup that night(it was the only time I wore mascara with them, it was okay, but you have to be extra careful taking it off+ I would advise against submerging them under water/oils for long), and the same thing kept happening! The next morning my eyelashes+extensions were wonky as hell and sore. Ugh, it was horrible. Then the extensions started to come out by them self after about 4-5 days and THEY TOOK SOME OF MY REAL LASHES WITH THEM! Lol. Ugh. My natural eyelashes were so not full anymore, so many gaps for about a month. I hated those things. Maybe it was the way they were applied or the way I took care of them..I don't know, but I'll never get them again! Lol. I'll stick to my natural lashes which were already nice before the fact! I feel like, if you don't need them, don't get them! Maybe it was the way I took care of them, though, because I wasn't really big into makeup or anything, just thought it'd look pretty haha.

I haven't had them, but my mom did and she had a very similar experience as RT. At the end of it all, my mom had to get a prescription for latisse to grow her lashes back because they were so sparse after the extensions took them off with them.

Too faced cosmetics makes this awesome mascara called "better than false lashes" it's wonderful.

In my opinion eyelash extensions are not worth getting. mine always calm off within 2-4 days and they are irritating. you should just invest in a good mascara or falsies. I've been using fiber mascara lately and I'm in love with it! when I'm not using that I use my old faithful great lash mascara (pink and green tube)

I'm so sorry you had that experience!! You should never have any sort of pain. It's strongly recommended not to use any sort of mascara a or liners unless it is water based because oil based products loosen the adhesive bond. Sometimes the lashes can look really good when looking directly forward but if you look from an upward angle down to the lashes you can see how well she applied the extensions. I was trained from one of the best companies and I never had problems but some people get really cheap training and start working right away. I would ask the lash stylist for a portfolio of her work before you commit.. Here's an example of the angle I was talking about. Hope this helped :)

This is what they should NEVER look like. If they do then get a refund and never go back!! There are a lot of people out there who don't even do it correctly.

Lash extensions can last anywhere from 1 to 3 months. Depending on how well you care for them. Hope this helped :)

I agree with Vanessa, that's horrible! That is not how eyelash extensions should ever look or feel, they obviously were not applied correctly. I am apprenticing under a lady for lash extensions and recently talking my own clients 100% and haven't had any issues thank goodness! I was very adamant about getting really good hands on training before starting because if one client has an experience like you did I can't imagine it'd be easy to fix your reputation.

Hopefully others bad experiences don't scare you away! however it's great to know about them so you can really do your research on who you go to. I get mine done and I don't have them on now because I've been so busy working but I always get compliments on my lashes for how long and thick they are so there hasn't been much damage if any. there are special mascaras you can use but honestly you won't need to wear mascara when they're applied correctly. I have pretty long lashes but I get mine done because I love the look of mascara but since my lashes are long they hit my skin and I always get smudges

Baby powder worked better than the expensive ass younique mascara did for me.
