Flip your curling iron the wrong way and lightly use it going down your hair creating natural looking waves . Then use sea salt spray after and tease the top. I do this ALL the time to my hair

Charlotte Ronson beach hair spray, you spray it in your hair, do a tight bun, keep it for 20-30 minutes and voila! Plus it gives amazing volumes! Thats the technique I used on my profile picture!

The sea has minerals in the salt which attach to your hair and suck moisture out of the air. And tying it to your hair preventing it from fully drying. Try making a spray from dead sea salt by Ahava. The added benefit is that this is a very nourishing mask for your hair.

SURF SPRAY DOES NOT WORK.
i am a cosmotologist, and have found that beach/surf sprays make your hair crunchy, and hard.
you need morrocan argan oil!
that and some mouse for playfull volumized curls!
also, if your looking to add the light beach babe color tone, before you go to the beach or out in the sun, add some lemon oil and vodka and you'll get natural highlights. (:
