Hey ladies!
I've struggled with dry skin almost constantly since it started my acne medications when I was thirteen. Now, as those of you who might've taken these medications know too, it's essential to have your ski care routine down pat. I moisturize, use sunscreen, keep skin irritants from little to none, ect. The dry skin thing is really getting to be an issue , I had it under control for summer but going into winter I need a heavier moisturizer. I currently use the cerave cream that comes in a jar and it's been an amazing help with my skin. However my skin seems to need more. I've been working harder on drinking enough water and what not but I was wondering if you ladies could suggest anything that is potentially heavier than CeraVe? I've been suggest the first aid beauty repair cream multiple times but I keep on forgetting where I can get it? I just really need something that will help keep the dry patches and skin in general at bay, or at least to a minimum.
Also , the other issue at hand. I've really struggled with finding a foundation that won't show my dryer patches of skin, or that won't dry my skin out even more so , which lead me to giving up on foundation and just using powder and concealer on occasion. You can see that it is not so good with my skin because it just looks dull with the powder, sometimes my dry patches even show through (esp around this time) and it makes me so self conscious. I've only tried three foundations that seen to work pretty good with my hydrating elf primer (thank god and heaven above) the pixi liquid foundation, the elf acne fighting foundation and the Makeup forever HD foundation (sample). I loved the way the MUFE HD looked, but the price is just a huge no. Could you ladies suggest any foundations , preferably drugstore but I am open to higher end options too ( probably be trying samples until I can scrape together some cash! The struggle 😫)

My favorite is Maybelline Dream Mousse Foundation :) I have incredibly sensitive & dry skin. I've been struggling for years to find a foundation that didn't dry my face out while having good coverage. This foundation does all of that while actually hydrating my face! :) I hope I helped! Xx

Paula's choice hydrating repair mask took care of dry patches this winter. I use it as a night cream. You can get samples of it, so you can see if it will work for you. For day moisturizer I use PC Earth Sourced or Skin Recovery daily moisturizing lotion with SPF 30.

In terms of foundation, I prefer L'Oreal Lumi Foundation if we are talking drugstore brands. For high end, I honestly really like the Bobbi Brown Skin foundation, because it is really sheer and lightweight.
Now to get rid of my dry patches I make sure to exfoliate regularly using my Origins dermabrasion scrub, immediately moisturizing after. I also like to use face masks every now and again.

MAC Face and Body and as far as powder goes. Try using a light hand with it, it makes a huge difference. Also it could also be the way you're applying the foundation, try using a stippling brush or a damp sponge (Beauty Blender) and set everything with a spray. It really helps!

At one period this winter I had extrenely dry skin and I found that using the elf Tinted Moisturizer was just great. A lot of ppl rlly look down on elf though since its so cheap but since you mentiomed that you liked some other elf products I'n recommending it to you :) It gives just as much coverage as a foundation but it actually moisturizes your skin, its amaaaazing. I use it with a damp sponge and it makes my skin flawlesss, with no dry patches. It never looks cakey or flaky on my skin. You should rlly try it out, its only $3 so its wallet friendly too haha. Moisture surge from Clinique it's means to moisturize super dry skin so it doesn't patch or show patches. I've sold it to many people and they love it! Or go to any Clinique counter and get a dram sample and test it out.

I agree with Araceli! I got dry patches on my cheeks this winter and I went to the Clinique counter and was recommended the moisture surge intense. Amazing cream, my skin feels great.

I have dry skin and I use a bb cream but cc cream is good to I would leave foundation until your skin is moisturised enough (I know what your going though I had the same problem)

You need the first aid beauty cream it is the only thing that works for me. Also the origins overnight hydration mask gets rid of all my dry patches. It's not drugstore but the jouer luminizing tunt is very good for dry skin and for a tinted moisturizer it has great coverage, medium I would say.
