I think I'll be going to Sallys and purchasing the necessary items to do my own acrylics. I'm going to be doing the tips rather than the entire nail & I probably won't be purchasing an electric nail file, I'll just spend the extra time using a regular file.. Any tips, detailed instructions, advice or anything helpful you lovely ladies can give me? Thanks!

Primer is your best friend!! Also, don't use too much nail glue on the tips. A little goes a long way :) I've never used an electric file and I do just fine, so you'll be fine. When applying the tips, press down pretty good, this will eliminate the chances of getting fungus under the acrylics, seal it good! And always clean your nails with 100% acetone before doing anything. Hope this helped :) acrylic is really fun once you get the hang of it, saves tones of money too. :)

I don't know really much about doing them but I got this kit from Kiss a while ago that had everything you needed to do them yourself I just followed the instructions and they turned out great. It was only like 10$. Whatever you end up getting and how you did it, Can you tell me how it worked out for you? I'd love to know.

Thanks so much! I had a feeling that no one was going to help lol. I don't want to walk into Sallys and look like I don't know what I'm doing, even though I don't lol, could you give me a list of the things that I'll need, if you don't mind. I've watched tons of videos and some people had things that others didn't.. I just want the basics tbh and I don't want them to chip off when getting dressed or doing laundry, that's usually when my nails get messed up for some reason lol.

The MOST important one is primer! Any nail primer will work, it bonds the acrylic to the natural nail, without primer my acrylics would only stay on 5 days tops. With the primer, they will stay on for weeks :)

I got the kiss kit as well, I would recommend buying a powder from Sally's though. I got the acrylic liquid from there too becUse the kiss liquid bottle was tiny and only lasted a couple sets

You will want a brush like this. Your Sally's lady will be able to show you one, this is from the kiss kit and the wooden bottom keeps detaching from the metal, so I suggest getting one from Sally's or a different kit :)

Lastly, invest in a cuticle oil and a nail buffer thing lol the buffer is a replacement for the electric file so it will shine and make your nails smooth! I use a little nail clipper to clip my nails, but I really recommend an actual tip clipper to prevent chips and cracking of your tips. I hope this helped and post some pics of your nails after!! :)
