I'll try to post a pic of the look I was trying to recreate. Kind of a fail. Products: VooDoo foundation, VooDoo HAC, YSL Touche Éclat,VooDoo setting powder, Nars blush in Love Joy, Nars cheekbone highlight in Albatross, blend of Mac and VooDoo eyeshadows, Sephora lashes. I covered my lid in black kohl to make the purple stand out and that may have caused me extra trouble. I don't know.

I know girl I had a mess on my hands. If I hadn't done my foundation first I would have taken it off and started over.

I think the black kohl just made the purple look darker.

I was trying to make the purple darker but the shades I tried to use above it and in my crease turned into a mess and of course, fell on top of my purple. It was a hot mess. I guess it could be worse but this one definitely isn't going on my Instagram! It was a learning lesson. I don't think I do well trying to copy looks exactly. I can take a look and imitate it in my own way, but trying to do the exact same thing just doesn't work for me.

Yeah I can't recreate looks the exact same way also. I usually just use the colors as inspiration. lol.

Wait, what happened to all my other comments?

It's not terrible, but the purple looks like blue to me, probably because of the kohl pencil. Your "hot mess" is like a good eye shadow day for me. If you want to see a hot mess, you should have seen the green disaster that I wound up with on my birthday. I struggle to wear greens, I keep getting new ones because I adore them and they always look too clownish on me. I thought I'd mastered it, this time doing a light green frosty shade on the lid and a matte green in the outer corner, but the two textures did not play well together and looked awful when I tried to blend. Then when I finally got that cleaned up to leave the house, about an hour into my birthday lunch I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and horror! The green matte shadow had just creased horrifically leaving a sort of green stain that was not attractive.

Oh no! I HATE makeup moments like that. I played with a little green recently. I put a soft green on the inner half of my lid and a medium brown on the outer V and blended in. I've also done the opposite, green in the outer corner and a neutral on the inner. With green I'm trying to start with small looks and graduate up to something more involved. That's a tough color. I love wearing green liner on my waterline though.

Yes, I stick mostly to wearing green liners or the occasional pop of green color. I will try mixing it with brown, that's a good idea. Maybe that will help. Definitely not going to use that wet n wild matte shadow in the crease again. YIKES.

Sometimes I'll blend it under my eyes with a neutral look on top. It's a tricky color!

Lol thanks Erica! I think I was mostly frustrated with the process. I kept messing up and layering colors and trying to correct and it was just a mess.
