Color wise, I love it! I love the deep dusty rose shades, the wines and dark reds!
The lip liner trick, I did below and I actually really liked it! Mine didn't look as natural as I would've liked to wear in public but I did like it!!
I do think this is quite overrated thoufh, and I do believe Kylie had some influence over the Color of The Year (Marsala).. Your thoughts?

Agreed. It's a beautiful color, but I'm over it at this point lol I got sick of hearing about it and seeing it EVERYWHERE.

I like the "Kylie Jenner lip" I think the color is flattering on a wide variety of skintones and the overdrawing adds a cool effect even though I can't really pull it off with my lip shape.

I wouldn't personally choose it, but it can look nice. As for Kylie...I have a lot of very unpopular and uncharitable thoughts towards her, so I'll refrain from a rant and just say that she's not the first person to ever do this, this has been a technique for years and years. Why everyone is crediting Kylie Jenner, I will literally never understand.

I really love the color of the year! Perhaps Kylie did have an influence towards it considering how much people have obsessed over the color of the year.
Hannah is spot on though.. she isn't the first and not the last!
Here's what really bothers me
I've always worn similar colors... it's never been a Kylie Jenner thing for me. I have a mauve color that I LOVE to wear to work!
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't have any dislike/hate/whatever you want to call it towards the jenners/kardashians. I don't know them, they haven't done anything to me, and I couldn't care less it's just another TV entertainment tactic and it'll still be about money/ratings at the end of the day whether it's a talented actor or singer doing a reality show or some random family.
What bothers me though, is that I cannot wear a mauve lippie without hearing
'Oh you did your lips like Kylie Jenners - looks just like hers'.
Ahem... first off, I am not only older but I was born with these lips, thanks... no over lining needed!
How come when I wear red lips no one says 'Oh you did your lips like Taylor Swift?' hmmmmm... or a 'smokey eye like Kristen stewart?'
They definitely have a big influence and it wouldn't surprise me if Marsala was inspired by her choice of lippies. ( Marsala is still gorgeous though!)

I want people to stop talking like she invented big lips
"Kylie Jenner" lips oh please
Also, overlined lips are so obvious (and unflattering) yet people act like its passable when it's not
Basically, I'm tired of her and this trend

@kitty
Lol yes!! How is a 17 year old girl a creator of big lips seriously I'm older than her and have bigger, mauve lips

I like it!! But I 100% agree with Hannah and Kitty. Because last time I checked... Kylie didn't invent mauve lipsticks. But I'm just over it now.

Uhm. I don't even know who this Kylie Jenner is... And I thought Marsala was the pantone Color of the year... What's that have to do with "Kylie Jenner" and over drawing the lips has been happening since the 90s... So yea. I don't get it and I can't really see your lips in the photo to decide if they look okay or not..
