I have chocolate/carmelish brown hair and I'd like to go to a mid tone/lightish purple! I'm not sure what I should really do or what products I should use.

First you need to bleach your hair. Don't need to go all platinum, yellow tones can go now when you won't have it lighter than this.. Hmm Directions is in my opinion the best hair color brand! But there's also pravana and manic panic. But I would say go for Directions! ^^

I found this on Google images and it seems close to the color you posted. You can buy it at Sally Beauty supply. You would have to bleach your hair first to get it nice and bright.
