So I recently splurged and rid of almost all of my drug store makeup and replaced it with higher end cruelty free products. I have super oily skin and I have been using the rimmel stay matte foundation (which I love) and loreal pressed powder. Is higher end really worth the price for foundation? I know it is for eyeshadows and what not but I'm not sure if its the same With skin products.

For actual skin products like face wash, moisturizers and all that totally is worth the splurge. I have a few drugstore foundations that I prefer over like Estée Lauder and tarte foundations. I guess it depends on the specific product and what you're looking for. It's different for everyone, just use what you like.

If it's working for you then stick to it! Me personally I get really oily around my t-zone and drugstore foundations didn't help! Now I use Mac studio fix fluid and I'm in love it's my HG , it leaves your skin looking flawless and airbrushed , when people see it they complement my skin so much thinking it's my skin lol. I think they are defiantley worth it , but if your happy with what your using then stick to it :)

For me personally yes. I have sensitive combo breakout prone skin. When I was using drugstore powders and foundations I was always broken out, never ever before had I had truly clear skin. A couple of months after switching to the Urban Decay Naked skin foundation I noticed less and less acne flare ups. Now it's been almost a year since I switched and rarely break out anymore, only a couple around my monthly because of hormones and whatnot. I will never switch back.
Also I had the hardest time trying to find shades at the drugstore that matched me. They were always too light, too dark, too yellow, too pink, etc.etc.etc. I got color matched at Sephora and my foundation matches up perfectly now! I used to have to feather the drugstore stuff down my neck to make it match and now I am able to use far less product and only have to apply it where I want the coverage since it matches so well.

In my opinion I think that anything to do with the skin on your face is worth splurging on, I used drugstore makeup for years but was never satisfied with the staying power& coverage I would get, now that I use higher end products I can't even believe how much money I waisted on things that didn't work for me. When it comes to lipsticks & mascara I will use drugstore

It all depends on what you look for in a foundations, sometimes the drugstore foundations have a lower coverage, but other times they don't, it is all about trial and error and do what works best with your skin:)

Depends, I finally found a perfect foundation that actually is my color (I'm extremely pale) and it's high end and I can't find my shade in drugstore but when it comes to things like mascara or compact I stick to drugstore because of how fast I go through it and it's extremely similar to high end mascara or compact

I think for people with either sensitive or really pale it's worth it. But if your skin can handle the drugstore brands go for it! I think they can look just as good if not better than the more expensive brands.

Higher end are honestly better expectably if you have sensitive skin, I always get break outs from drugstore makeup, maybe they added something that the high end doesn't have that irritates me I honestly don't know... But if your going to get an high end foundation I really recommend laura mercier silk crème foundation

It depends. For me I get more face products that are high-end due to the color selection and formulas. But drugstore products can work well as well. The only big difference between high-end and drugstore is the quality of the I.ingredients, but keep in mind this doesn't automatically make high-end better. I just find myself purchasing more expensive things because I know I will like them and its cheaper for me in the long run. I would rather buy one $60 foundation that works wonderfully for me, than buy 6-7 $8 foundations that I throw away before I bite the bullet and get the high-end product.

It depends on the product and what you're hoping to accomplish. If you're in doubt, check the ingredients...I can tell you that my Aunt works at Columbia Cosmetics, and sometimes she'll tell me "don't buy ABC brand, buy XYZ brand" because it's the exact same thing, just packaged differently! For me, I just go by what I like. Most of my skin care products are high end, but I also happen to like Wet N Wild waterproof liquid eyeliner and their megashine lipgloss!

I've always bought high end foundations and powder (recently bought my first "drugstore" tinted moisturizer, pixie h20 skin tint and I love it). But as I have spent more money on skin care products (moisturizer, exfoliant, cleanser, etc) my skin has gotten better and I feel like I can get away with a cheaper foundation. Drugstore products have come leaps and bounds in the past 10 years, by the way. So I spend the same, if not more on my face, but the money is going into my skin care regime, not my makeup.
When I first got into makeup I bought a lot of high end eye shadows from lancome, clinique, Aveda and MAC. (I recently gave all my clinique shadows to my mom. She was thrilled, but I wonder how long that will last. Wait till she tries to use them! CHALK CITY! ) The MAC ones are the only ones I still have and use all the time. A lot of that expensive make up was pretty much rubbish and I can do so much better at the drugstore now it's not even funny.

This question is a bit of a double edge sword because most high end own drugstore lines and if you look up the info you'll see why so many are similar to the high end that owns it. if you add pro grade that's a different story a subject of its own but for drugstore for skin issues boots N°7 is drugstore products that has won numerous awards for its line of makeup and creams that cater to skin.Lancome is part of L'Oréal, and in turn Maybelline is part of L'Oréal and also Nyx cosmetics,Shu Uemura, dermablend, Giorgio Armani, Vichy, the body shop and urban decay recently a few years back but the list can go on with what companies own and that is why keeping a open mind to products is key what is a few bucks can be a gold mine it's really up to you. :) sometimes what we think are dupes that we find are really related in the cosmetic world lol
