Yes! It will change the way you see eye makeup! If you want to try it out get NYX I think it's only $5.99 at ulta, it comes in 3 shades.

Totally. It's not that expensive considering it will probably last a long time. Get the Urban Decay primer potion. It's lasts a while. It's totally worth, the pigment shows better and lasts longer :)

If you have dry lids, you probably only need a cream shadow base like Maybelline Color Tattoos or NYX Jumbo Pencils. If you have oily lids, then you definitely need on to keep the oil from breaking down the eye shadow within hours.

even cheaper is the elf primer (target or walmart) for only a dollar and if u wake up and see that your eye lids are shiney u need a primer because tht is oil and can cause creasing the elf one is pretty good i have medium oily eye lids and it works! but deffinetly get a cheaper one to start out then work up in price and quality :)

I'd say its pretty important in my routine but it just depends on your eyelids

Lets put it this way, if I don't have my eyeshadow primer, I can just forget makeup all together that day.

Elf primer is $1 at target if of course it doesn't work as well as urban decay but its perfect if you just need a simple primer

Urban decay primer potion literally makes a world of difference a bit expensive but a little goes a long way!

LORAC Behind The Scenes is my favorite:) the UD primer potion is a runner up! For a cheap price, Hard Candy has a somewhat decent priner.

Basically primer isn't needed. Eye shadow just needs to stick to something. So if you can't afford a good primer, try a thin concealer :) eye primer basically just gives eye shadow something to stick to. Really thick concealers tend to crease faster.

I just use a little foundation!

It depends on your eyelid type. If you have oily lids, like myself, concealer/foundation won't cut it and in an hour you'll have cracks deeper than the Namib Desert.

First figure out your eyelid type, then think about your budget and which eye primer would suit your needs :)

I live urban decays primer potion. Some people do not need to use primer though. What skin type are you? If you have normal to dry skin you may not need to use it. If you have oilier or combination skin then I would suggest it. Creasing can be embarrassing. Also it depends on what eyeshadow you intend to wear. Some eyeshadows like Elfs need a primer more as a base to make the colours pop. With some cream eyeshadows such as the maybelline colour tattoo it isn't really needed however the NYX jumbo eye pencils crease terribly.

UD Primer Potion is my absolute favorite eye primer. Before discovering this product, I had never used primer before. Now that I've used it, I never want to go back to being primer-free. :) I think it's a really good investment to make if you want to get the full effect of your eyeshadows and eyeliners.
