I have hazel eyes... They are green after I cry and nearly black when I am mad. My mom has noticed this, as well as my friends ... How do I lighten them? And does anybody know why this happens to my eyes ? I cant see out of my left eye except for a blur if that helps..

My eyes are a medium brown, but when I am mad or really upset they get pitch black. I don't know why, it could be something to do with adrenaline or our nervous system.

I don't know if you can do anything to lighten them but you can use colours that will emphasise them. Blues and purples look nice on hazel eyes.

Hello hazel-eyed friend! The reason our eyes look so green when we cry is the surrounding whites turn so red. Red and green are complementary colors so they make each other look stronger. If you want to pick out the green, use red-based shadows like pinks and purples. (Or red if you're feeling daring :])
I don't know about the turning black thing, haven't ever noticed it. Cameron may be onto something.
And finally, orange and blue are opposite on the color wheel. Whenever I want to emphasize the golden aspect of my eyes, I'll use light blue or teal. My favorite look for this is a light nude eye with metallic teal liner. I'll take a photo of it someday, but I feel it makes my eyes look lighter. Have fun with it!
