Help me style my short leggings?

I got some black cotton leggings for Christmas that come to just below the knee/mid-shin. Being a very tall girl, I've never tried to style something like this before! can anyone give me any tips or ideas? pictures would be great.

I think converse, a colored or plaid skirt, and a tank top with a cardigan would look cute (:

Thanks Alexis, but I dress very gothic, so my only skirts are black! I don't know if the black leggings and black skirt would be too much, what do you think? :/
