Gel nails or normal nail polish?

I've never used Gel polish for my nails before but I've been thinking about trying it. Normal nail polish seems to chip too easily. Which do you recommend? Gel or normal?

I've never used a gel polish but to help with chipping make sure to use a base coat and a top coat (:

Nail polish & gel on top but clear gel.

A base coat will also help to keep the polish from chipping (:

If you like to change colors very often, I'd go with normal polish. Gel lasts forever and can be difficult to remove but I always do gel nowadays.
