Hello,

I have a huuuge problem. I love doing eyemakeups on myself, but every eyeshadow I tried using, gave my eyes a bad reaction, and I got pimples on my lid, and inner and outer corners.

How ever, I can use liquid liners and mascara, but nooo any kind of eyeshadows. I still have little bumps and scars left out of those pimples, even if I haven't used eyeshadow in about an half year. Can you guys help me somehow?

----> But the good thing is, that I've been lovin' to do liquid liner looks and try different lip colours :)!

But I know you makeup lovers know how I feel for not being able to use eyeshadow :/ It sucks!

Ps. And before you recommend me those super expensive eyeshadows that doesn't irritate my eyes, I have the smallest money amount for buying makeup.. I still hope you have some ideas :)

Have you tried cream eyeshadows?(:

Yes, I have. And sadly, they do the same thing to me :(

Have you tried an eye primer on your eyelids before applying the eyeshadow? Maybe that will help. I also know bare mineral makeup is one of the best make up lines to use for super sensitive skin. Good luck ☺️

Have you tried either BareMinerals or Physician's Formula? Clinique is also good for sensitive skin. Money wise Physicians Formula would be your best option. Although the other two aren't crazy expensive.
Can you use kohl eyeliner pencils? If so, you can create a smokey eye with it.

Eyeprimer makes the same effect if I put eyeshadow on top. And BareMineral and Physician's Formula don't sell their products in my country :( Clinique is too expensive for my budjet :/ Kohl eyeliner; again the same effect :|

Do you thinks their might be ingredients my eyes can't handle? And what those might be?

What brands have you tried?
For drugstore brands check out Marcelle, Physicians Formula, and Almay. These brands are good for sensitive skin, my favourite would have to be Marcelle I love all of their products but they're a bit more pricey for drugstore. My other recommendation would be to try beauty products from health food stores. They are supposed to be organic and safe to use for sensitive skin. Have you ever considered getting patch testing done for cosmetics? You need to get a referral from a doctor and basically what they do is test about 10-20 different ingredients on your back which is covered by a large bandage like thing for 3 days and then removed. It could help narrow down what ingredients you're allergic to.

It could be certain ingredients that you're allergic to. A lot of cheaper eyeshadows are loaded with talc (talc is generally the first listed ingredient). Companies that mass produce a cheaper product use as much talc as possible because it cuts costs. Other toxic ingredients are parabens and aluminum, which is used to give a product color for cheap. Some people can tolerate these materials, while others cannot. I would suggest looking for products based around mica. Not all affordable products are poor quality and not all expensive products are good quality. You're going to have to be extra careful and check ingredients before purchasing. Products with red dyes are also known irritants, since they contain carmine.

Your best bet is to find a 100% natural makeup company that doesn't use any talc, preservatives, or fillers.

Sugarpill eyeshadows are completely vegan and might not have the same products in them as most other brands. plus they have tons of colors to choose from.

Elf has eyeshadow sticks that you could try.

Stop with the experimentation on your lids and visit a dermatologist. What you experience everytime you use eyeshadow is called acne cosmetica...red, acne bumps is the usual result. Someone mentioned using a mica based eyeshadow...that isn't without its issues...my husband has seen patients come in with eczematous rashes from using shimmery mica and acne from bismuth is found in mineral makeup as well. If you can afford it I advise seeing a dermatologist who can have you go under a patch test for common cosmetic allergies...the results from such a test will allow you to know which ingredients to avoid.

@michelle...you made mention that cheaper eyeshadows contain talc while higher end do not. I have to disagree with you on that one. I collect a lot of highend eyeshadows...bobbi brown, Dior, Guerlain, ByTerry and they all contain talc. Many of them second on the ingredients list with mica being first in some instances. Both talc and mica are used by high/low end brands. And high-end is just as guilty at using irritating ingredients as the low end.

You should look for natural/organic makeup with no chemicals you shouldn't have any reactions

Please take Shelley's advice and don't experiment with your eyes.

I was also going to suggest you see a dermatologist before experimenting with your face. I've seen some horrible after pictures of women using products on their skin and having a horrible experience with it. Please for the sake of your health and wellbeing, see a dermatologist and talk to them. That's what they are there for! Good luck doll! 💚
