What is the part of the character exactly??
Like attitude and such
Most of the time for makeup they want it natural. You use concealer, foundation, a powder, blush, do your eyebrows if you have to, natural color for eyeshadow and then mascara. No eyeliner or anything our of the ordinary.
Clothes I would keep simple and nice. Nothing too fancy but you still want to look nice.
Now if the people tell you to look more the part then that's different.

Or there are accommodations they have to consider with face and body structure. And a persons personality on how they fit a character.

An audition is essentially a first date between you and the auditors, but they want to be able to see YOU above everything. Wear a flattering dress WITH SLEEVES, even if they're short, tights, heels, that's pretty standard. As far as makeup I would go for natural, and maybe pick one feature to "suggest" the character a little. Hope this is helpful!
