I had light reddish brown hair.. and I decided to bleach it, I used a regular bleach kit, and didn't go as blonde as I wanted it to be... sooo I used peroxide and baking soda twice for half hour. and it was very light blond but kind patchy in the back.
so I thought this color would be great to put in some blue manic panic that I mixed with conditioner. when I rinsed the blue out, I had bright turquoise roots and patchy green blonde hair. so I freaked out and washed it out with headnshoulders and used peroxide and baking soda again.
which took out some of the green but I still had bright blue roots.
I left it for a couple days cause my hair was so dry, so I deep condition a couple times...
dumb enough I tried dying my hair purple to get the blue/green hair away and it didn't work.. all it did was make the blond darker.. help please.
I want my hair lighter and the blue/green out, but also don't want to damage my hair anymore. I just want purple hair again :(

Go to a pro, I really suggest that you shouldn't have bleached your hair simply because peroxide and baking soda shouldn't be mixed together, the manic panic blue is very hard to get out it takes awhile. Your hair will be dry for maybe a few days probs a week or so or more if your hair is seriously damaged. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and even a treatment. Headnshoulders isn't going to cut the damaged out of your hair or get it to a better state, bleaching your hair is simply never to be done at home. The cautions and the danger you put not only yourself in but also your scalp in is serious. Your very very lucky that your hair could take that peroxide and baking soda in. I know it's a costly visit to the hairdressers but I bound that you will regret the decision, not only to you know that they know what they are doing but your also going to be in good care and they'll recommend products to use. Not just supermarket brands. Hope this helps and sorry for being so harsh, I've just seen these things so many times and it scares me that people want to do it themselves with no professional advice ( unless your a hairdresser). Btw I think purple would really suit you and good luck with the color. Sorry again for being so harsh :(

You're going to damage it no matter what you do. You can do another hair mask and then you need to strip the color. I recommend color oops. You might need to strip it twice. Don't put peroxide and baking soda on your hair anymore, it isn't bad to use it once, but to use it so many times like you already have, along with the bleaching is why your hair is damaged. I definitely wouldn't recommended dying over your darker hair, because that would've been a lot simpler. But anyways, strip the color, bleach again if needed, then dye purple.

Color oops won't work on veggie dyes. I highly suggest going to a professional, or just giving up and dying it dark. You're hair likely won't survive if you keep doing things like baking soda and peroxide.

I think your hair is already damage. When the hair is porous it's hard for the dye to do what it is supposed to do. I bleached my own hair the results weren't professionals I used ion color brights (sally beauty supply) mixed it with hair treatment and it worked. Please don't use any more bleach, color removers , nor peroxide mixed with baking soda. I dyed my hair purple over the blue and it came out dark purple.

First off, never ever use a bleach kit. That is not formulated for your hair and it isn't professional. If you want to DIY use wella
Bleaching powder from Sally's and 20/30 volume developer. The roots at turquoise because the heat from your scalp causes the roots to develop faster. What I would do is make a soap cap, ( 1 part bleach - 1 part 20 vol developer - 1 part shampoo ) put it on your hair after shampooing and leave on about 5 min to lift the green out, sometimes it might still look green but it will be lighter. After rinsing with warm/ hot water shampoo and apply manic panic purple (dilute with conditioner if you want pastel ) and after wards I would put on the ApHogee trepang way from
Sally's to repair the ends. ( you can add some pink to the color you have now then purple to help with the green) also you can use a purple shampoo (shimmer lights / unite / Kevin Murphy / joico ) leave it on about 30 min and it will cover the green for a while , or use hair chalk
In spots that stay green. ( ALL this is from experience )

Also you should never condition after bleaching if you are going to be applying color or toning. The hair is very porous at this state and the conditioner will fill in the cuticle and make it impossible for color to get in.

^she has got it all right. If you feel unsure about any of those steps, go to a professional. I have been bleaching my hair every 6 weeks for the past 4 years, and after doing my own roots for a year, I sucked sucked up my pride and admitted to myself that my hair would be healthier and look better if I went to get it done, rather than doing it myself.
