I want to try mac foundation but I hear it can be cakey. I don't like the cakey look. What foundation do you use and how do you like it?

I have the mac studio fix fluid as I'd hurd such good things about it I was so exited for it to come but when I finally used it I was disappointed it's no better than my other foundations I also use no7 and bourjois. I wouldn't say it was cakey but it does seam to stick to your baby hairs on your face the coverage isn't as full as I expected I wouldn't say it's worth the money which is sad because I had such high expectations :(

Really Charlotte? I thought that foundation was full coverage.
I don't mind full coverage but I prefer medium coverage.

I've used Studio Fix in the past and it did seem thick so I've been using the Matchmaster one which seems much more fluid and less cakey. If you go, check out the Matchmaster. However - I still swear by their Studio Fix Powder foundation - in the summer that's almost all I wear.

Well I've got spots and it doesn't cover them I've tried building it up as well and it still doesn't give me the coverage I hoped for or expect I have tried applying it with a beauty blender and with a real techniques buffing brush but it still didn't work for me I would say that it's medium coverage :/ I do have some very red and purple spot scars though so maybe I'm being a bit harsh but I know I'll deffinitly not buy it again

I've heard good things about the MAC face and body and the studio sculpt mixed together. Never tried them myself though.

Indeed I think it's all just a bit if trial and error what doesn't work for me maybe perfect for you I'd try and get some samples so you don't waste any money :)

I have normal dry skin and absolutely love studio sculpt it's moisturizing with good coverage and stays all day. I'm always trying new foundations and have only repurchased 3 and that was one of them and I'm planning on buying again this summer since I spray tan

I use Mineralize Moisture spf 15 foundation from Mac cos I have dry skin. But I mix it with MUFE foundation. As weird as it may sound for some people who doesn't like mixing 2 foundations, but I find it nice on my skin and the color is perfect.

Well I have dry skin so I will be looking into the foundations you mentioned for dry skin. How long does the face and body last before the oils start to peek through? And Thank you Jacqueline for breaking it down.
