I want to add a new makeup item to my routine. I'm just debating which is the best option. What do you girls think? Idk if I want contour but I'm open.

You can contour with a matte bronzer. I like to use hoola bronzer by benefit for light contouring/bronzing. I also like to use chocolate soleil by too faced for my contour. But if you really want a palette that you can both bronze and contour I would get the Kat Von d shade and light palette because there's bronzer highlight and contour

I've been looking at the milk chocolate soleil. Also the hoola too! Out of the two, which would you prefer?

What is your price range Jackie? I could also show you the difference between the hoola bronzer compared to a actual contour powder by Kevyn Aucoin if you want.

Oh I forgot to mention the brush that it comes with actually works (pretty well at that!) and super soft lol.

If you're going to contour, don't use Hoola. It's far too warm for contouring and will warm up the area rather than cool it down to create the illusion of a shadow which gives the look of more pronounced cheekbones. Like Alma said, the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder is good for contouring. A cheaper alternative that I use it the NYX HD blush in Taupe. If you want to go with bronzer to warm up the high planes of your face then Hoola is a great option.

Thanks for the pics ladies!! I guess I'm just on the fence. Do I really want to"shape" my face or just add some color.

Liv, I'll check that out for sure.

Honestly Jackie you already have structure so I would just build up your structure with the Sister's, Blush and a Hint of bronze for extra color.

Alma, could you explain what you mean by sisters? Currently for blush I am using Tarte in first kiss (pretty sure that's the name) can you suggest bronzer/highlighter etc? Maybe no. Around 30$ apiece

Sure Jackie, the sister's term is just a thing I say when combining the two product's together to help lift and add color to your cheeks.Blush alone is great to add lift and pretty color on the cheek and Bronzer over it will bring that hint of tan color if that's what your looking for but if not then that could be left out. It's truly not a must in a makeup look it's usually just a extra. If you want a lower cost and good highlight Revlon Skin lights highlighter it's beautiful! I'm so glad they brought this products back because I was so bummed when they discontinued it years ago,I hope they bring back the loose powder soon that product was beyond beautiful for a drugstore product. I did how ever noticed they came out with a Highlighting pallete that I'm thinking about trying out in hopes it's as good as their last one was. Hard Candy Glow all the way in Doll face is pretty,Candies sweet peach is very pretty,Palladio has wonderful Highlighters and bronzers,Kleancolor American Chick,Victoria Secret Radiant glow face trio which has Bronzer, highlight glow, and blush. So many brands lower cost and up are really stepping up in it all so Just go and explore everything :) If you want higher end brands I could list more but If you want a nice hint of pretty at a lower cost I suggest Revlon. :)

I agree with alma and riff - if you want contour - don't use a bronzer - jordan liberty has a great YouTube video that explains why and shows the difference between contouring with bronzer vs a proper contour shade.
