How Do You Cover Scarring On Arms And Thighs.?

I have some horrible very old self harm scars, and I never can wear shorts or t-shirts. But this new year my boyfriend gave me this beautiful dress but it is very revealing. And I need a full proof way to cover them. I know that is quite personal but there purple and pink-ish. So just my foundation doesn't work! Thanks(:

Dermablend and cover fx makes good body cover.
I would try bio oil (sold in drugstores) to naturally fade the scars.
