I want to try a new nars foundation because I love the brand. If you have tried the nars sheer matte and the new nars all day luminous weightless foundation then please let me know which would be better for oily skin :)

I have oily skin and tried the Sheer Matte and I absolutely hated it. It was so hard to blend, had no coverage, and was so difficult to build up. I returned it the next day.

NARS all day luminous weightless foundation is better for oily skin because in reality it gives a satin matte finish, not dewy at all.

I have both and truly like both but then again as a artist you can work with a lot of product's and make it work. The Matte sheer gives a beautiful finish I have it on in my default pic, I'm combo skin and it hits true to what it's suppose to do its really easy to work with but what most don't understand is all foundations have different ways to apply you need to understand and get familiar with the textures and application of foundations And your tools. As for the new Nars lightweight I truly like it but here's the thing I'm going to be honest as a mua I understand how it's suppose to work but I also understood this foundation will get people scratching their heads as to how to use such a foundation because it's very thin watery consistency would make it easy for people to over apply it and then not like it because of the finish they created not the foundation it's self. The foundation is beautiful and is for all skin types it also builds to full but that also is another note to think about what tools you use to build it. It truly does stay matte all day but it also has a illuminating finish. The sheer matte is more of course a matte foundation with sheer beauty and Nars lightweight is illuminating lasting foundation. Also keep in mind your primers and skincare products used with these to help really work the right way.Just really do your own personal research get samples always, because in reality most of the time its personal error when it comes to cosmetics.

Alma you made me want to try the nars sheer matte :-) how do you apply it?

Gisell, Sheer matte is so lovely it's so sheer it's not meant to cover fully at all hence the word sheer lol if you ever see sheer on any foundation don't depend on a max coverage or really much coverage. If Nars gets rid of it that will be a sad day because it truly is pretty.Alex I dot on first in one section at a time, then with a flat paddle brush (lately been inlove with flower cosmetics flat paddle) move it around let set for a few sec then go back over the area add small dot to that area that needs extra coverage and grab my Mac 130 brush lightly tap as you would when stippling a painting (actual stippling not YouTube stippling lol) then when all is done I just soften it all up by tapping into the skin with the final brush Wayne Goss 10 no foundation with this last Step it's just the tapper finish to settle in the foundation. I don't always powder over my foundation but if I want that extra glam to a illuminating or radiance foundation I'll go over some area's with hourglass radiant light but very subtle with it not crazy lol and all depends on the look. Oh just a quick tip when using sheer radiance illuminating foundations always prep your skin for it, I'm all about the toner to help it out 😉 Oh one more thing I will say is I do think Estee lauder double wear maximum cover camouflage makeup face and body is still more of a full coverage then the Nars all day luminous but then again estee version is matte and Nars is illuminating both awesome.

Hi ladies!! Alma, I heard that Nars in discontinuing Sheer Matte, do you know if this is true? I also would live to know if you've heard or tried Sephora's much less expensive knock off of the Nars ADLW liquid? I'm not a huge fan of most of Sephora's house products, but heavens that foundation is sweeping the reviews, and it's a fraction of the price?! I'm intrigued...😳🙎
