Don't be intimidated!! It's so awesome for HAC! I use it like, every day! Once you practice a bit you'll have it down. It is by FAR my fav product to highlight and contour with. And don't you love when Jacqueline answers your posts? I seriously screen shot everything she says so I don't forget it.  😊

Thank you so much Ms J!
that info helps a whole lot as well.. as always!
now my next problem is I don't know my face shape lol
I would think round because of all the rounded edges lol

I received the rcma contour palette in my lucky bag and I'm just so intimidated to try it.

Thank you all so much for your feedback. it definitely helped me understand it a little better.
I just wasn't sure if contouring took the place of your foundation/concealer.
it does make sense to start with foundation to make the blending easier... hence the term "foundation".
I will definitely keep all of your tips in mind when I finally give it a try!

Yeah a warm toned bronzer is a definate don't. I use the same one as the ladies above. It's a better contour shade than any powder I've bought made specifically for contouring tbh:)

I'm aware you shouldn't contour with bronzer but, as I said, the Too Faces Chocolate Soleil is cool toned, not warm toned, so it's fine for contouring (:

I would recommend watching jordan liberty's YouTube video on why you should NOT contour with bronzer - as this screen shot from his video shows - it's really obvious when you use bronzer to contour as opposed to a foundation/concealer that is cool toned and a shade darker than your skin tone - his video really gives the best tips - but whenever you watch YouTube videos you have to keep in mind that although they give general advice or a tutorial on how they do it on their face - it may or may not apply to you n your face - contouring is so face shape specific that you just kinda have to figure out what looks best on your face and those videos can be used as a general guide but if you follow it exactly then you may end up looking foolish so just play around with it n see what looks good on you.

Yeah I'd definitely look into youtube as well but we are here to help so I'll do my best to explain.. I usually never use concealer to actually hide blemishes or dark circles since I don't have any but when I highlight & contour I still use foundation, I personally feel it looks better with a smooth & even canvas that's my opinion tho. I prime, foundation, the use a light coverage concealer in a shade 1 to 2 shades lighter than my skin tone and highlight under my eyes in the reverse triangle shape, the bride of my nose and anywhere else you want to high light. then I apply a darker concealer or foundation stick (again sheer coverage) on the sides of my nose, along my temples my jawline and my cheek bones. I blend the highlight then the contour. I then apply a powder highlighter over my cream highlighter to set it & powder contour over the cream Contour. I then apply blush between the highlight and contour on my cheeks and blend it all together with a clean brush. this is what I do for a full h&c. there are days I just prime, foundation and do h&c in powder form & don't always do my nose. it depends on your face shape where you'll apply the product and your preference for how much you do. I'm planning on ordering a cream h&c palette but until then that's what I do.

Personally I put on foundation and use a concealer lighter than my skin/foundation to highlight. I put the concealer in triangle shapes under my eyes, a little on the center of my chin, on the Cupid's bow, down the center of my nose, and a little on the center of my forehead. I blend all the concealer with a makeup sponge, set it with translucent powder, and then contour with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer (it's cool toned even though it's a bronzer) under my cheekbones, under my jawline, and down the sides of my nose. (:

I'm not a full face makeup wearer at all but I think it looks so pretty and I want to try out some of these great things in my stash.

when you contour do you still use foundation and concealer or does a contour kit take the place of all of that? and what order do you use them in? I'm so confused and I wouldn't want to look like a product from a Hostess factory lol
even though I do love cake! haha

what steps do you take to look gorgeous?!
