SIGMA, a bit pricy, around $100 for a full set, but comes with a ton of brushes. Crown brushes are good too I've heard :)

Shelly, that's good to know! I just love my mac brushes and would hate to be disappointed in any future purchases I make from mac.

One word: SIGMA! They are amazing and around $10 each but they also sell big sets of brushes for around $100. They are super soft and dense and work amazingly! I have the mrs.bunny set and its sooo cute!

@Shelbi: Which e.l.f. brushes? Professional (white handle) or Studio (black handle)?
@Alyse: The permanent brushes, to my understanding, are still handmade. The limited edition brushes (including the ones in holiday sets) are not.

mac brushes are my favorite. mine are about 6 years old and in great condition. i've heard they're not handmade anymore so i can't speak to the quality now but i love my mac brushes. the only one i've ever disliked was the blush brush because it sheds. so i use a sonia kashuk blush brush, and i like that one.

Sonia kashuk, they are a little pricey when you buy single brushes but I got a 5 piece brush set for $15.00 at target

Keara - the two brands I mentioned above.
I'm not crazy about EcoTools either. The size and shape of their brushes aren't something I like very much.

I understand e. l. f., but Ecotools didn't work out for you? That's interesting, their eyeshadow brush is my favorite. I'll recommend Rite Aid Renewal brushes.
