Powder Foundation Tips/Recommendations.

I just started getting into foundation last year and I've mainly been using liquid. I wanna try powder but I'm not really sure which one to try or how to use it. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance ☺

I love the MAC Studio fix powder foundation. Mine lasted me for two years and I just hit pan fully like last week! I plan to repurchase because it's amazing lol. I personally apply it with a buffing brush. I also don't mind the sponge applicators they come with, they work well but can easily pack on too much lol. My mom applies it with the sponge applicator it comes with all the time, though, and it works for her.

I also want to try the new UD NAKED powder foundation that just came out since I love their liquid foundation lol

Also, the MAC one is pretty decent coverage. Medium at least.

Personally, I use my regular liquid that matches my skin tone all over, then use a powder that's a couple shades darker to contour my cheekbones and temples. I also use the powder underneath my eyes and on the sides of my nose. Then I go over my tzone with whatever's remaining on the brush to combat oilyness and dull shine, while avoiding cakeyness! that's my trick for powder foundation :)

Also, I would avoid setting any liquids with powder foundation. in my opinion it makes it look cakey. Another tip would be try not to use so much under the eye area.

I personally only use powders to set my makeup :) can't use it alone, I always feel like it's chalky because of my dry patches

I love Mineral Fusion pressed powder!! I use Maybelline dream mousse foundation. Then my pressed powder!

Getting a flawless base is easy I can show you a method I like to use
After applying a thin layer of the foundation your using you should let dry for like 30 seconds and then conceal the areas you need(blemishes, any darkness) with either your finger or a brush. Then you should totally go for a loose powder (I recomend the HD Microfinish powder from sephora) and apply it with the ELF Total Face brush.. its sold at Wal-Mart for $1 and its a red brush.. lool I hope that didnt sound too confusing :) applying your powder this way gives you a soft focus effect on your skin and prevents from getting too much on your skin(otherwise making it look Cakey:/ )

I have oily skin and learned that less is more, and my skin is less oily throughout the day (:
I use my LA Base Pro Lancomr primer, wait 5 mins then apply my Lancome 24h wear foundation after warming it on the palm of my hand as I swipe it on my face and smooth it out with my beauty blender then wait for 4 mins and apply my NYX translucent powder( which creates a smooth finish! It's so awesome!) with my Elf face brush and bam!

I forgot to mention that after my primer, I apply my MUFE Full Coverage concealer only on the spots I want more coverage on with my middle finger and go over the harsh lines to blend with skin then wait 4-5 mins and apply my Lancome foundation  (:

What I meant by less is more, is that only applying your foundation once,will ensure the longetivity of your makeup  (:
