How to find the right foundation. what's the difference to a bb cream? I was told I have to find if I have warm tone or cold tone? someone break it down for me?

Bb creams have health benefits, such as vitamins and whatnot & foundation doesn't. If you have blue veins, you're cool toned, green veins, you're warm toned, both and you're neutral. Usually I try to find a foundation that I'm interested in purchasing and look up swatches on Google of the colors and the names to see which one would match me best. If I got anything wrong, someone please correct me lol.

I think the best way to describe your tone is to use "Pink" and "Yellow".

While it is true that most brands use "cool" for pink tones and "warm" for yellow tones, MAC, for example, has foundations that say NW (it stands for Neutral Warm) but they're more pink toned because in art, red *technically* is the warmest color.
MAC also has foundation shades that begin with NC (Neutral Cool) and those are more on the yellow side (I think about the fact that they're closer to green, so they're cool).
So...
if you see blue/purple veins, you're pink-toned, and if you see greenish veins, you're yellow-toned. If you can't tell, you're probably neutral.

You can really compare the foundations from the bottle and see that some look more yellow and some look more pink, so really what they name them is a bit arbitrary as it changes from brand to brand.

You may have two different undertones in different parts of your face or have, for example, a yellow toned body and a pink toned face, or, like me, they change between seasons (I'm a bit pinker in the winter, and quite yellow in the summer, courtesy of my Mediterranean dad and my Irish/Polish/German etc. mom)

Of course, you can't just buy a foundation online unless you've tried it before or if you can't return it, it's important to try it on and see how it works for you.

Ok :) so look at your wrist! What colour are your veins? Green - warm undertone blue - cool undertone mix (blue & green) - neutral

Cool tone foundations are more pinkish and warm tone foundation has little yellow / olive tones in them :) fair & light skin is cool and dark skin is more into the warm tones!

And foundations has more coverage because bb creams are almost sheer and they are more beneficial to your skin :)
