Primer and moisturizer for dry skin...recently I have used Revlon colorstay and Maybelline fitme regular but sometimes these both looks cakey on my skin... Was using clean n clear facial cleanser and clean n clear hydrating gel moisturizer but still I feel rough dry patches around my cheeks and below chin areas.. So please suggest some good products... Does Nivea creme help my dry skin? Read positive reviews about this one. What y'all think ladies.

For dry skin I wouldn't recommend Revlon Colorstay. I would suggest checking out possibly a creme foundation or a water based foundation. Look into Laura Mercier and Cover Fx Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation.

If you asked 10 people, what color is the sky? Almost universally, the answer will be blue. If you ask them, but what shade of blue? You're going to get 10 different answers. It's fairly easy to recommend a brand based on skin type. If you're looking for a color match, the only way to do that is to go in person for a match. Sephora has a great tool called Pantone IQ. It can be slightly off so just make sure to do it twice to make sure you get the same number. It takes out a lot of the guesswork. There's also a website called findation.com. If your color matched to a specific brand and would like to try drugstore options, it will plug it in and give you some good matches. Do not put Nivea Cream on your face, it has pore clogging ingredients in it. Neutrogena has several drugstore skincare options that are great. My favorite is their alcohol free light night cream. It's thick like Nivea.

Too Faced's Hangover Rx primer is supposed to be really great for dry skin.

I also also have dry skin and I love IT COSMETICS CC CREAM. It has a light moisterizer, an anti-aging serum, non-chemical spf 50 sunscreen, a primer and medium coverage foundation (although they claim full coverage) all built into it. There are not a lot of shades. I buy the Medium & the Tan and mix them.

I have combination skin and get dry patches in the winter. The best thing to do is to fix the dry patches by improving skin care. A gentle cleanser (cereve and cetaphil are good drugstore choices), a toner that contains a chemical exfoliant will increase cell turn over in the dry patches and get rid of them, like Paula's choice skin perfecting fluid (you can also gently, manually exfoliate them by washing your face with a very soft wash cloth or konjac sponge). An adequate moisturizer is a necessity. Cerve PM is a good drug store choice.

I have combo skin and use a primer to control oil around my t-zone (NYX Angel Veil) and that allows me to use many different foundations.

I agree with Jenny. Skin care will dramatically change the way your make up application looks and feels. I have dry skin for the most part but I rarely have an issue with any foundation I use if my skin is clean, exfoliated, and moisturized. I mix/alternate high end and drug store skincare/makeup. Cerve, cataphill, and Neutrogena are all good brands. As far as foundations colorstay whipped is really good.

Nearly Naked from Revlon gives a nice dewy finish without being too cakey.
