The Monistat anti-chafing powder gel has the the same active ingredients as the MAC gel primer.
This may sound weird and gross, but my makeup seriously lasts all day. The ingredients Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polysilicone-11, Trisiloxane, Silica, Methicone, and BHT are the same in both the chafing gel and the Mac primer.
I just wanted to share this with you guys especially since I don't have the money to buy Mac products all the time and it has really helped my makeup stay one for hours!

I've actually seen posts like this several times during my time here on Beautylish; many girls do use it because the ingredients are the same. It really isn't that weird lol.

The gel is also a dupe for the original Smashbox photo finish primer. It is so much cheaper.($6 an ounce versus $36 for the Smashbox, $21 for the MAC) Some people who are squeamish about having a monistat product in their kit have repackaged it into other bottles so that clients don't see them putting monistat on their face. I bought it as a primer, but it doesn't work for my combination skin. My makeup melts down just as quickly as with no primer at all. I do love it in the summer on my legs with skirts and dresses, it's intended use. I did use it successfully as a primer on my mom who has much drier skin. She thought it was hilarious that it was the same stuff.
It really does go to show the premium that we are paying for makeup products. It shows how cheap these ingredients really are to buy and mix together. I mean all props to Smashbox for developing the primer, going to the trouble of formulating it in the first place, but they have been selling it at this high price for years, relying on people just wandering into Sephora and buying it because they've heard of it.
