Don't get too buddy buddy, it's still a salon environment- god sipping. Anything relating to State Board keep a folder! Don't leave items out! Still working on my L's but I have no desire working in someone else's salon paying them for what I do... Freelance is the way to go for me! Good luck, enjoy!

How exciting. Best advice is to keep to yourself, while in school and pay attention. State boards facts especially. I did find a job right away because I shadowed and talked to plenty of salons while I was still in school.

Just make sure u did homework when picking the school you will invest time and money in. pay attention to their completion rates, stateboard passing rates, and placement rates. make sure the school helps with placement. When you are enrolled, get your moneys worth and get involved in all that your school has to offer. First step is to have awesome attendance, awesome attitude, and take as many clients you can to get experience. Once u graduate get some experence behind the chair first then think about owning. Good luck to you:-)

Never speak badly about someone, it's a small world- you never know who knows who. Remember that when women feel vulnerable they tend to go on the offensive- don't take anything they say too seriously.

Always remember you are there for yourself! Always be kind to everyone, but it's not a good idea to make friends, it's a place of work. Pay attention, follow all of the manipulations your instructor(s) show you. Always go to as many demos as you can. Stay clean and organized! Take a look into the state board rules and regulations. You are there to practice for state board, to get your license, but also to make your clients happy.
