I'm doing hairfreshing at college and I asked my tutor this. She said don't use any heated tools on your hair but if you have to then keep to a minimum. Also you don't have to cut your hair. It's a myth that you need to cut it to keep it healthy. I've not but my hair in around 8months and its had a huge growth spurt and is healthier than ever. Also invest in a reconstructing hair treatment. Hope all this helps :-) x

Drink lots of water. Avoid alcohol as much as possible. Make sure to get lots of vitamins. Avoid flat and curl iron, and other things with heat, if you can't, use heat protection (i love Kérastace - Ciment Thermique). Cut one-two centimeters of every other month :)
