Self Tanner + Hot Tub?

I'm going to a hot tub party tonight and I am a bit pale. I've been using st tropez self sunless tanner a couple of times so far and I was wondering if I could apply it a couple of hours before I go to the hot tub party tonight? I just don't want it to wash out of my skin and make me look tan from the chest up when I get out of the hot tub if I do. I don't know if this is an actual problem that I need to worry about.
