Ok so I have chest length thick straight hair and I am looking for a way to curl it without heat. It will curl with a curling wand and hairspray but I don't want to do that regularly. Have tried paper bags but TOO curly. Anyway for heat free waves/curls? Thanks :)

Wrap a thin headband around your forehead to The back of your head. Take pieces of hair and wrap it around. Then taking that piece, add more hair and wrap again. Do that on both sides until you have finished. Sleep with it like this and in the morning set the curls with hair spray. If you are confused, look up "headband curls" on YouTube.

Rollers, sock curls(YouTube it) or pin curl it when it's wet or even a tight twisted bun over night will give some nice waves

Twist your hair after a shower when it's wet, and if you keep the twists really tight (it takes some work) then it looks great when it's dry!

Tried paper bags - it works but I have quite long hair so it went a bit too curly... One of the few methods that have actually worked in the past though

You can use socks :) that's what I used to do or braid it. Fishtail it overnight and it'll look cute too but don't brush it out once you take the braid out or else it'll turn frizzy.

As long as you are using a heat protectant on your hair before you apply heat it's fine to use your iron

Curl formers are great, roller sets and depending in your hair texture first twist my hair while wet then I Bantu knot using Shea moisture and la natural gel then I wait for it to dry then take it out...it gives me beautiful curls
