@Kemberly, yes dairy causes breakouts in acne prone skin. I avoid it.

I started take a low-hormone BC. It has cleared up the rampant cystic / hormonal acne around my chin, but now I get tiny little bumps on my forehead. They're hardly noticeable and disappear quickly unlike the cystic acne which are huge and last for over a week. I've only been on it for 2 months so maybe the forehead issue will clear up with time. I haven't experienced any weight gain or loss.

Keep in mind that even though birth control can help acne, it needs time to work. It seems a lot of people don't see much improvement until 3 (or more) months. Not saying you won't see results sooner, just don't be discouraged if you don't.
I was on the pill for two months and saw absolutely no improvement in my skin. I probably would have if I'd stuck with it, but in that 2 months I gained 15 lbs, so I decided to go off the pill.

They definitely help with acne and you might bloat a little water weight at first, but the bc pills make you gain weight is b.s.

to add to this discussion, dairy AND soy especially can cause hormonal breakouts. I switched to drinking almond milk and try to avoid dairy as much as possible (cheese is my weakness) but my skin has gotten a lot better. As for birth control, I was on Yaz for years, and my skin stayed clear, but there was too many other crappy side effects. Ive now been on Estrostep Fe for 4 months, and my skin is almost completely clear again without as many awful side effects. That being said, everybody is different and reacts to medications differently.

@Kemberly, you're not the only one...dairy makes me gassy too. I just don't react well to it, especially milk. But it's hard to stay away from ice cream.

Don't be scared to go to the obgyn doll :). They are there to help and the "weight gain" is maybe 3-5 pounds per year if any.
