So ive pretty much tried everything to calm and get rid of my acne and really nothing has worked for long term. Ive determined that it has to be hormonal and ive heard that birth control has acne treating benefits because it has two ingredients that are said to lower the sebum oil in which cause acne as well as other things of course. And im just wondering if you take birth control, have you seen a difference with your face? and does it actually work?

Yes it makes a huge difference! Face washes never worked for me...so no I take Yasmin. And have not had any breakouts! Only time I get then is around that time of the month. But ask your doc what's best for you. Yasmin and Yaz have worked wonders for me!

My face was awful and within two months on the pill it was gone! I tried orthotrycycline. Most will help though. I had been on several and they all helped my acne.

Yes yes yes. I'm on reclipsen which my dermatologist prescribed for me specifically for my acne! Some don't help with acne, but some do. I'd suggest talking to a dermatologist. (:

My dermatologist wanted me to go on 2 birth controls and accutane because the creams werent working but i thought that was to much cause im good with washing my face and blah blah blah so i opted to just try birth control along with my skin routine so im hoping it works for me as it did for you all! thanks :D

The weight gain really has everything to do with your hormones.. Some people can gain up to 30 lbs and some people can lose up to 30 pounds and some people stay the same.. I know that my mom was someone that lost 25 lbs because of how birth control affected her thyroid. And my ex co-worker gained about 30 lbs.. It's different for everyone.

Please consult a doctor to ensure you have hormonal acne first if all, I took Diane 35 and it worked magic for my skin. I do still However have acne, around my time of the month if you have hormonal acne it will help it but not get rid of it totally.

My dermotologist actually prescribed me birth control as well as antibiotics and epiduo for my acne which is a topical treatment. I haven't noticed any weight gain but it has improved my skin. My skin was never too bad, not like a cystic acne or anything just clusters of breakouts. See a dermotologist!

i hope i lose weight then lol but yeah im 99.9 % sure its hormonal cause i get it on my shoulders too and i own a clarisonic and tried everything. my derma wanted me to actually go on 2 different birth controls but hes crazy. i just wanna go on one that has benefits for acne and as well as the protection aspect of it.

It depends on the type of birth control. But I recently read an article talking about Gary. It went into mentioning the hormonal side effects of eating dairy and how it impacts your skin.

Eating dairy can create acne?
Jan 14, 2013
