Thanks, Mandi! I will definitely look into that. Right now I basically don't sleep before 4 am. I can be falling asleep during the day but when it comes to the actual time that I should sleep I just can't.

I also just thought of something else that may help. If you have a lot on your mind try writing in a journal. This brand called Knock Knock makes one (pictured. I have one and got it through Amazon but a bookstore may have it) , but you could just use any journal or notebook you have. I find that it really helps me get stuff off my mind and that the physical act of writing helps get everything that's nagging at you out of your head so you can relax. It really works for me. You could also try using a notepad app if you're more into typing but I personally think that writing it down on paper is much more effective and relaxing.

Hallie I have been there the insomnia, anxiety, constant fatigue, and I'm only 25 so I have a few tips that I can think will help you Hun:
1. If you take stimulants or caffeine make 5pm the cutoff
2. Deny any prescription sleeping meds (ambien lunesta all that junk) I've been on both and the stories I have are not nearly as horrifying as what other ambien prescribed users have been experiencing from the sleeping drug
3. Melatonin is great I take 3 Mgs while people who fall asleep easily might take one
4. Reading seems to stir me up and get me intrigued in the story so I can't sleep but I have tried somewhat successfully using this tactic on textbooks
5. Zquil it's an over the counter sleeping aid, I personally haven't felt any side effects, withdrawal (I limit it to twice a week) or fatigue; in fact it helps me ease into a calm sleep and wake up at least 8 hours later feeling energetic
6. This one is bulletproof : WORKOUT even if you do it in the morning it's a way of making your body physically tired so even when the brain is on overdrive your body can't keep up and aha beauty sleep!

I have anxiety and depression and I'm constantly thinking about what I did wrong throughout the day than the positive. I usually have trouble sleeping because I analize things so deeply!

Do you get enough protein? You seem very bright but you need to give yourself permission to let go or to at least create a 'sacred space' times when you give yourself permission to be free and 'work zones' - time that you can persevorate over them. Also if something plays over in your head for too long you need to let it out through writing. If you want to be proactive sit down with your journal 30 min before you want to hit the hay

Try drinking some chamomile tea before bed and then hoping into bed, no lights, no technology, and meditate. Meditation is an excellent way to relax but can a little while to get the hang of (:

Also a note on Valerian Root. Do NOT TAKE if you are pregnant or have issues with menstruation. It is an abortifacient and can really mess things up for you. I cannot take it as it caused extreme breakthrough bleeding and severe heavy bleeding and cramps, even though it wasn't my time of the month and I was on birth control pills to regulate cycle/flow. It was scary and awful and there is not anything on the bottles that say that (try don't have to because supplements aren't regulated by the FCC/law.)
