I've been wanting to try on a red lipstick but want to know how ya'll determine which one is right for you. I've read that certain shades go with a persons' skin tone depending on their undertones, whether they're cool or warm, but I have no idea. I'd like to get ya'lls input. (:

You need to figure out what tone range you fall into. Are you a cool blue red or a warm orange red? To figure this out, just look in the mirror at your complexion. I have found the following on internet which i want to share with you as well:
If you’re fair, then you would benefit from colors in the cool blue red range, which helps brightened up skin and balances out tonality, while creating a “depth of lip,” with the rich, deep red that will be beautiful against fair skin. Colors in the warm orange red range would be too glaringly bright for fairer complexions.
For medium to darker skin tones, a red from the orange red family will work best on this skin color.

Some great reds are MAC's ruby woo if that one is too blue....Russian red is a great red as well
Also Nars dragon girl is a great red! It looks really nice on most complexions!

Usually if you have a fair skin tone, blue-reds are the best shade of lipsticks. If you have a darker skin, orange-reds are a better compliment

I think it is a really good idea to figure out what you have for undertones and then go to a few counters or sephora and try them on. Sephora will give you samples do you can see what it will look like on your skin in daylight.
