What are the basics or essentials to have in a makeup collection?

Good foundation that is good for your skin tone and that applies well on to the skin. I would recommend MAC

For me the essentials are just mascara and lip balm but i reccomend:
Foundation
Concealer
Blush and/or Bronzer
Neutral Eye Palette
Mascara
Gel Liner
